Com a transmissão do final de Game of Thrones na noite deste domingo, 19 de maio, pela HBO, os atores da série foram às redes sociais para se despedirem de seus personagens através de recados de muita gratidão.

Emilia Clarke, a Daenerys Targaryen, publicou no Instagram uma coleção de fotos, e escreveu: "Game of Thrones me moldou como mulher, como atriz e como ser humano. Eu só queria que meu querido pai estivesse aqui agora para ver até onde voamos. Mas para vocês, queridos e mágicos fãs, eu devo tanta gratidão, pelo seu olhar firme sobre o que fizemos e o que fiz com uma personagem que já estava nos corações de muitos antes de eu assumir sua cabeleira platinada".

I’ve sweated in the blaze of dragon fire, shed many tears at those who left our family early, and wrung my brain dry trying to do Khaleesi and the masterful words, actions (and names) I was given, justice. Game of Thrones has shaped me as a woman, as an actor and as a human being. I just wish my darling dad was here now to see how far we’ve flown. But to you, dear kind magical fans, I owe you so much thanks, for your steady gaze at what we’ve made and what I’ve done with a character that was already in the hearts of many before I slipped on the platinum wig of dreams. I know this because recently I found my rehearsal and prep schedule for season 1, week 1. This was given to me when I landed in Belfast for the first time, weeks before we even started shooting. Listed here is the rehearsal where I first met Kit, and the first time I wore the costume that’s seen me through 8 seasons. I’m glad I kept this. I met so many people that week who have come to mean so much to me. Back then we couldn’t have known the journey we’d go on together. I wouldn’t swap that experience, or those people, for the world. Críticas contra a petição de “remake” da 8ª temporada

Na última semana, os atores de Game of Thrones também foram questionados sobra a petição online – com mais de 1 milhão de assinaturas – exigindo que a HBO refaça a 8ª temporada da série “com melhores escritores”, especialmente após a virada de Daenerys no episódio 8x05.

O ator Jacob Anderson, que deu vida ao Verme Cinzento, criticou a petição durante uma entrevista ao Good Morning America. “Eu acho grosseiro”, disse Anderson. “Obviamente, a série é muito importante para os fãs, e eles carregam o programa no coração; significa algo para eles”, mas o ator lembrou o trabalho duro da equipe para realizar a série. “A nossa equipe em particular era o grupo de pessoas que trabalhava mais pesado entre todas que já conheci ou que já tive o prazer de trabalhar, e acho que (a petição) banaliza o trabalho deles de certa maneira, e acho isso um pouco triste”, falou o Verme Cinzento.

Isaac Hempstead-Wright, o Bran Stark, foi mais duro: “É simplesmente um absurdo. Eu não consigo nem entender. É ridículo. É ridículo que as pessoas pensem que podem simplesmente exigir um final diferente porque não gostaram”, falou ao The Hollywood Reporter.
