Os criadores e diretores de Stranger Things, Matt e Ross Duffler, popularmente conhecidos como os irmãos Duffler, foram acusados por uma integrante da equipe técnica da produção de terem cometido uma série de abusos verbais contra diversas mulheres no set de filmagens.

Peyton Brown aproveitou o Dia Internacional da Mulher para fazer uma postagem em sua conta pessoal do Instagram dizendo, entre outras coisas, que não voltaria a trabalhar na série. Ela justificou sua saída dizendo que não poderia continuar depois do que testemunhou e fez referência ao movimento Time’s Up, criado por atrizes de Hollywood para lutar contra a desigualdade e a violência no ambiente pofissional.
“Eu pessoalmente testemunhei dois homens, de alta posição de poder naquele set, abusarem verbalmente de múltiplas mulheres. Eu prometi a mim mesma que, se fosse colocada em uma situação onde tivesse que dizer algo, eu iria. Então estou falando isso para os meus 11,5 mil seguidores: TIME’S UP [esse tempo acabou]”, escreveu na postagem.
Apesar de não citar diretamente os irmãos, quando questionada por seguidores nos comentários se ela se referia aos Duffler, ela confirmou e foi mais específica sobre como eram os abusos: “Houve gritos, insultos, ameaças e pessoas sendo demitidas ou forçadas a se demitir por causa deles”. Os comentários e as respostas já foram apagados desde então.
