Superbitch: Lee Daniels fala sobre seu filme de super-herói gay

O co-criador, produtor, roteirista e diretor da série Empire, Lee Daniels, esteve presente no evento da revista Time, Time 100 Summit. Em seu painel ele falou sobre o recente e polêmico caso do ator Jussie Smollett e também sobre seu mais novo projeto, Superbitch.

Daniels havia anunciado que o filme será feito em janeiro, em sua página no Instagram, com uma mensagem que dizia: “10 anos atrás me disseram que eu era louco quando disse que queria fazer um filme sobre um super-herói gay...não é o meu próximo...mas está nos planos".

Van Jones, o jornalista da CNN que mediava o painel, perguntou a Daniels se o projeto era real e o diretor confirmou que “É verdade! Se chama Superbitch. Eu o encontrei no Instagram, de todos os lugares. Ele faz mortais para trás, tem uma capa e luta caratê e, ai meu Deus, ele será um herói!”

O diretor não revelou muito sobre o projeto, mas afirmou que será de baixo orçamento. “Não vou colocar muito dinheiro por trás nele, mas alguns milhões para um filme sobre um super-herói gay é bastante excitante!” no que Jones completou “Com um nome como Superbitch, você não precisará de muita propaganda.”
